Host: Andrea Leonelli (Digital Music Trends)

Andrea Leonelli produces and hosts Digital Music Trends, a weekly podcast completely dedicated to digital music (www.digitalmusictrends.com). The show was started in early 2009 and has produced 38 episodes to date, featuring interviews with some of the most interesting and forward-thinking personalities in the digital music space. Guests have included start-up CEOs and founders, employees of more established companies as well as journalists and writers working in the field.

Whilst the first half of the show generally features an interview, the second half is always dedicated to the week's news, covering and commenting on a few of the stories that have made the headlines in music industry publications and technology sites.

Andrea has also attended and reported on a number of trade shows and industry events in the past two years including Popkomm, the Great Escape Festival, MusicHackDay London and Midem 2010. Digital Music Trends will continue to report on industry conferences and events throughout 2010 to cover the very latest developments in this fast-paced field.

Andrea is particularly interested in following the growth and evolution of music tech start-ups and lately he has been focusing his research on the evolution of interactive music formats and on online streaming models. He graduated from Salford University with a BA in Popular Music and Recording Techniques and an MA in Composition and is currently based in London.
